Last month I was contacted by Stephanie Boozer from PPA Magazine (the official magazine for Professional Photographers of America) and my thought process was like this: “Wait…what? Who is this?”. Yeah, exactly like that. She said she wanted to feature my studio in the March issue of PPA Magazine and wanted to know if I was interested. “Hmmmm. Let me get back to you on that”. REALLY? Of COURSE I’m interested! She scheduled a phone interview for an hour later that week. During the interview I talked about a mile a minute and I could hear the sound of her keyborad flying in the background.

As if that wasn’t enough, Jeff Kent contacted me while we were waiting for hours in the Tampa airport (delayed while coming back from SYNC due to the monster storm raging through the country!) asking me to do the “Goods Splash Page” in the same issue!

It’s all been so exciting these past few months…especially as I reflect on that huge decision to risk it all to follow a dream that has changed our lives drastically (in such a huge, blessed way) in these past few years since I left the corporate world. People dream about changing their lives late in life…and it’s hard. Most people DON’T do it because it’s…scary. And Risky.  And…HARD. But in the end, doing it is so worth it.

God is good and so faithful to us…we have dedicated our business to Him and He has in turn blessed us in so many ways. This fun little feature is just a cherry on top of it all and I’m so excited to share it.

Thanks PPA Magazine!

I was so excited when Brianna contacted me to photograph her wedding…I first met her family a few years before through her sister and have photographed them for various reasons through the past few years. I knew it would be a fabulous day full of vibrant colors and beautiful details.

Zeff and Bri’s story goes way back…to junior high. They were sweethearts in 7th grade, but it didn’t last. Yes, Bri broke his young heart. But fast forward several years and love caught up with them both when they reunited by accident, only to find out that they were BOTH in the same line of work, employed to keep our communities safe fighting fires! Seems the flames burned hot because here they are, celebrating their love “forever”!

Selecting a few sneak peeks for them to see was hard—so many gorgeous details, dresses, flowers and people to share. Here are a few favorites with SO MANY MORE to follow for Zeff and Bri very soon.

Love, you know, is all in the details:

Bri, the radiant Bride, couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle. I remember at one point, about 30 minutes before the ceremony, she said “okay, I’m ready and tired of waiting. Let’s get on with this thing! ” Yeah, so on it went!

Every little girl dreams of the day she will grow up to be a princess…or at least a Bride…

Oh…and as a side note…I think the next wedding bells to ring just might be the maid of honor…Bri’s sister…because during the reception I caught her and her sweetheart making out in the winery alley-way…just sayin…

So excited to share that the editor of Sacramento Magazine’s wedding publication “Our Weddings” (see full article at that link) contacted me to ask if she could feature us on their blog! I had sent in photos of Tiffane and John’s wedding—they will also be featuring us in the magazine soon! Exciting…and a big thank you to them! :)

They did it! John and Tiffane turned 9/11 into a glorious day by exchanging the 2 most significant words in the English language between a man and a woman: I DO. We posted their engagement session a few months ago here, and today we are posting a SNEAK PEEK of their fabulous wedding day! As with any sneak peek, this is just a teaser of many more photos to come in the in the coming weeks for John and Tiffane…we had a hard time narrowing down which photos to show for the sneak peek so we are simply showing a LOT! I’m sure John and Tiffane won’t mind!

The setting for the beautiful setting was the garden area of the Scribner Bend Vineyards. The wedding event coordinator/designer was Ronda Mouer and she did a fabulous job. The day was HOT…like, 103 degrees or hotter, and this was an outdoor wedding. But you would never know it by the joy and excitement of the day. Everyone was happy…and before and after the ceremony we used the gorgeous wine-tasting room for some window shots and ambient-lighting.

The wedding colors were BLACK AND WHITE with a touch of RED. The cake? TOTALLY COUTURE…black and white damask. The bride’s shoes? Why, red of course…remember? A touch of red! And the GROOM’S CAKE was a FROG! A story behind that one of course, and it was told at the reception before the cake was cut.

I LOVED Tiffane’s wedding shoes! RED and FABULOUS and GORGEOUS! She was truly a beautiful bride. And they made a gorgeous couple. Here it is…the sneak-peak of their perfect day:

The GROOM’S CAKE? A frog! The princess kissed the frog and it turned into a prince…her PRINCE CHARMING! (A big thank you to Don for insisting that I get this photo…he’s THE man at our wedding events…can’t do it without him xoxo.)

Well—TRASH as in HAVE FUN after the wedding in alley’s, streets, dirty brick siding and WATER! Yes, Trash the Dress has become a very popular term in the past few years and it’s even flooding into the senior market with prom dresses! The idea is to capture some fun, uninhibited photos of the bride in her dress—uninhibited meaning that the bride isn’t so worried about getting the dress a little dirty AFTER the wedding (or the senior/after the prom)!

Meet Jeana and Natalie. Girlfriends. They decided to TRASH their weddings dresses in a joint portrait session and it was so much fun seeing the two of them in metro downtown walking side by side, laughing, giggling, having a ball.

We took the town by storm and EVERYONE watched as we walked the alleys and ducked into dirty little corners with 2 brides in their gowns and veils—and sometimes their shoes and sometimes their bare feet.

I think they had more fun doing this together than if they were alone—so girlfriends, grab each other for the time of your life and let’s get those dresses DIRTY and WET!

A FRESH NEW LOOK IS COMING SOON!

Yes, we’re known for updating our websites with fresh new looks often…probably my love of “decorating” coming out! Well…look for a fresh new look to both our “ENGAGEMENT/WEDDING” website and our “PORTRAIT” website soon!

And along with our fresh new look for the Engagement/Wedding site is a fresh new “theme” and branding for it as well: Teri Fode Photography | Love Couture. I love photographing engagements in particular and love creating a fashion/editorial twist throughout my couples work—so “Love Couture” just seemed to fit.

Here’s a sneak-peek at the HOME PAGE of the new engagement/wedding site plus a few photos from the COUTURE GALLERIES. Watch for a sneak-peek of the fresh new portrait site in a few days!

AHHHH…..LOVE.
