SENIOR FEATURE | CLASS OF 2015
One of my all time favorites photo session is at the horse stables! I love it when my senior girls (or guys) are into horses and ask to include their hose for senior pictures. I grew up in Montana showing horses and it brings me back to a love and passion I had years ago.
Bree LOVES Princess…her horse. This session was a DREAM for me. I loved Bree’s style, the setting, the mix of looks. I always consult with my clients on a shoot like this to collaborate the look they want. It’s super important to balance the capture of her passion for the environment and her horse but also, JUST her. And her personality and style — separate from the stables and her horse. This is what helps capture her well-rounded personality and story.
A NOTE ABOUT THIS SESSION: When photographing horses lighting is important—but a reflector is a huge no-no because 99% of horses will spook. That’s why the time of day is most important as well as camera settings and location of horse-to-main-light (sun). I use both direct (late setting sun) as well as flat (but directional) lighting when photographing horses.
