Oh Sam!

I met with Sam and her mom for a senior style consultation in the studio and I knew this session would be full of amazing and fun fashions! I loved their style ideas and when Sam texted me her choices for her senior photo shoot I literally *gasped*. Adorable—fashion-style-fun.

I especially loved the top with the emerald-colored jewel (mint and emerald is a pantone pick for this season, you know). It photographed even better than I imagined.

One thing I especially love is when both mom and dad can make it to the session. We had a fabulous afternoon together and choosing favorites from this session was not too easy. Here they are.

2 short years ago I photographed Courtney’s sister Amber…how time flies! Courtney is just a few months away from GRADUATING in the class of TWO ZERO thirteen and looking forward to her future. The world is big and her dreams are even bigger.

I loved working with this family because they are always so creative in their ideas for props…from flowers to books and everything in between. And Courtney’s mom is awesome at helping with accessory ideas from head to toe. I loved the boots “army” boots with the dress…a fun vintage feel. The roses were the perfect touch to add to the theme.

She’s a reader…so books were important to incorporate. The detail to attention on the colors and types of books added to the overall feel…I loved that!

Did you miss the blog post about the MOOD BOARD I created that was the foundation of our new website design? MOOD BOARD HERE. This was inspired by the Re-Start program recently that was on Creative-Live by Jasmine Star. I HIGHLY reccommend creating a mood-board or doing a photo-safari if you are looking to create your own new website. It was HUGE in establishing the direction of my new design.

Maddie is a HORSE LOVER and I LOVED photographing her with Kallie! Truth is, I’m also a horse-lover and grew up with horses in Montana. One of my FAVORITE sessions is photographing senior pictures with horses.

Maddie does barrel-racing and has been doing it for years. It’s her heart and her passion and capturing this side of her was ever-important when creating her senior images. We started at her home (yes—we are known for location photo session even at your own property!) and ventured to the stables where Kallie is boarded.

Maddie’s parents ordered a large canvas-wrap of the black and white image—they were specifically wanting a very “artsy” image with her horse. I shot this with that in mind.

FYI: You MUST be a 2014 graduating senior at a Sacramento (or surrounding/outlying area) high school. We only have a few openings each year and already have models chosen—space is limited.
