We shot a portfolio last year for Cary Faley and were thrilled when he called to update his portfolio for a new album being released this summer. Cary is one of the guys you just immediately like…he’s laid back, easy-going and very likeable…AND…very musically talented.

Can I brag? MY SON IS SO COOL. I say that with the modest tone possible. Because truly…my son is one cool dude. And I mean that in many ways and on many levels. If I wasn’t his mom…I would still be impressed with this guy.
He loves God with all of his heart and is very secure and confident in his beliefs to shout from the rooftops. He doesn’t care if he is the only one shouting. He doesn’ t care if what he believes makes him unpopular. He stands on the Word of God and the Word of God alone. That makes him cool.
He is also very talented musically. He wants to be a musician…either in church (perhaps in ministry) or in contemporary christian music. He sings…he plays guitar…he plays sax…oh…and he plays harmonica. And he plays to the glory of God. That makes him cool.
He also makes a mean smoothie. Cool…told ya.
We took him out for a pro-photo session a couple of months ago right before he got his braces on…since his sister will be debuted on the websites and blog soon for being one of our 2011 Senior Spokesmodels in a few days (I’m in denial that my baby girl is going to be a senior), I thought we’d give Jordan his own special feature here now…because after all, the kid is cool.
We love working with our Ford Model referrals: they are adorable and oh-so-fun! Little Miss Serra is already an experienced model at age 5: she is currently the Downy Girl (seen on the Downy Bottles accross the nation) and was the cover of the Family Fun Magazine in December/January 2010! When I met her, I could see why: she is so stinkin’ cute and photogenic!
Tori was with me on this session and did a fabulous job with reflective lighting…our little client was perfectly willing to go anywhere we wanted including a few alley-ways, stairwells and nearby city-monuments! Mom was great—she stood off to the side just letting us work with Serra without parental direction. This is SO important when working with children because as we parents all know, our kids usually show their best behavior when mom and dad are not around, LOL!
Here are some of my favorites from Serra’s session. I’m sure she will be seen in major print ads soon—Downy and Family Fun Mag are just the beginning for this cute girl!
Meet Mar and Kelani—two adorable kids that are as comfortable in front of a camera as they are in a playground. This session was actually for mom—we created images for her business portfolio and she brought the kids along to include in a few photos with her. But while mommy was getting her makeup done, Mar and Kelani and Teri went out in the back alley for a “play date”…no posing…just hanging out while mommy was busy getting ready for pictures.
This session was SO much fun…the kids were completely at home in my favorite “studio” and we laughed, walked, played, talked. Oh, and just for kicks we took a few photos. Lighting was tricky because I didn’t have a reflector with me…so it was all about finding the right light and capturing a few moments of personality.

Baby Ryan is a recent new addition to Ford Models…they took one look at him and observed his fun, carefree, happy personality and signed him up as one of their new babies! So up to Sacramento mom and Ryan came to create his first ever “modeling portfolio”!
He giggled, played, laughed and explored with a smile the entire session! Here he is…meet BABY RYAN:
Take one look at Brianne and you’ll know why she has been one of Ford’s busiest little models! She was the face for Gymboree last year and has modeled for Pottery Barn Kids, Family Fun Magazine and others. Look for her in the Fruit of the Loom commercial too! She is adorable…and she completely stole our hearts during her photoshoot. This was her very first “portfolio photoshoot”…and she was a STAR subject. I think we tired out before SHE did! LOL! She LOVES having her photo taken…and Don and I had so much fun with her.
Brianne’s mom was as much fun as she was…and who ever could have known that we scheduled this photo session during the craziness of the Easy-Rider convention downtown! It created for an exciting atmosphere and Brianne and mom weren’t phased a bit.
