Rockin’ it…

Can I brag? MY SON IS SO COOL. I say that with the modest tone possible. Because truly…my son is one cool dude. And I mean that in many ways and on many levels. If I wasn’t his mom…I would still be impressed with this guy.

He loves God with all of his heart and is very secure and confident in his beliefs to shout from the rooftops. He doesn’t care if he is the only one shouting. He doesn’ t care if what he believes makes him unpopular. He stands on the Word of God and the Word of God alone. That makes him cool.

He is also very talented musically. He wants to be a musician…either in church (perhaps in ministry) or in contemporary christian music. He sings…he plays guitar…he plays sax…oh…and he plays harmonica. And he plays to the glory of God. That makes him cool.

He also makes a mean smoothie. Cool…told ya.

We took him out for a pro-photo session a couple of months ago right before he got his braces on…since his sister will be debuted on the websites and blog soon for being one of our 2011 Senior Spokesmodels in a few days (I’m in denial that my baby girl is going to be  a senior), I thought we’d give Jordan his own special feature here now…because after all, the kid is cool.

A FAMILY AFFAIR

This session was all about documenting Maria as an 8th grader heading into high school soon…so mom and dad were very open to including a few family shots! While planning this session, Tiffany described a few images she saw on our website that were “vintage” and “urban” and wanted to create that same feel in her own images—so she was very open to doing an urban on-location session.

One of the most important factors when creating images with multiple subjects is choosing the clothing correctly so that the colors blend well. I gave Tiffany some direction and ideas and she came up with an AWESOME color pallet! Great textures, styles and color combos.

This was a brisk morning but the sun was out and it was a great day for a session!

IT WAS MERRY.

Hoping your Christmas was merry and your New Year is happy! Our Christmas was blessed. And as it is every year…my kids were photographed literally just days before Christmas and our card was created and sent to the lab, received and mailed out ON Christmas Eve…not exactly timely, but hey, the “holiday season” includes Christmas AND New Years so I figure we’re okay (or fashionably late!).

Happy New Year to all!

On Her Way…

Meet Lauren.

She’s on her way to GREATNESS and SUCCESS! This American-Idol semi-finalist has landed a HUGE opportunity to record a demo cd for a very well-known recording studio and wanted some “edgy” photos with an urban feel to send in with her demo.

Lauren is sure to meet with huge success—she’s determined, confident, beautiful and talented!

Sara Williams did Lauren’s make-up—fabulous as always!

GO LAUREN!!!!!

JONATHAN…portrait of a young pianist.

This young man is talented and very photogenic. He’s a freshman now…and these are photos to document the transition from junior high to high school. Mom wanted a “formal” portrait with a tux and the piano…but she let me put my spin on it and this is what we came up with.

If you look close, you’ll see that I’m posting a photo of myself too…LOL…look close…it’s all in the eyes.

As I drove up to Jonathan’s home, I noticed an AWESOME field/marsh next to his home…and you just KNOW where I was headed after the formal portraits with Jonathan and his sister Jasmine!

ALEXIS: part II

Remember Alexis, from a few posts ago? One of our 2009 Seniors?

Well, here is PART DEUX. Her beautiful sisters. Mom wanted a family portrait

of the three of them—so while we were at it, we added a “siblings portrait”…or two.

I love these girls! They were so fun and up for anything.

Here’s one to show the time of day we were shooting in—golden sunset time.

Love the sun glare. Yummy.
